Nose surgery
Treatment Overview
A rhinoplasty is more commonly known as a nose job. It is a procedure to reshape the nose. This can vary greatly from removal of a small hump to full reconstruction of the nose. Nose reshaping is a surgical procedure to improve the shape of the nose. This can be to reduce the hump or improve the tip of the nose. Precision reshaping. Natural outcomes. Open & closed expertise.
Open & Closed Technique
Both approaches are offered. The choice depends on the complexity of your case — closed rhinoplasty for minimal reshaping, open for more detailed nasal framework work. Mr Nassab advises on the best fit for your anatomy and goals.
Natural Proportion, Not a "Done" Look
The aim is always facial harmony — a nose that suits your individual features. Bespoke planning uses facial analysis to guide refinements to the bridge, tip and nostrils, preserving the natural character of your face.
Breathing Correction Available
Where a deviated septum or structural issue is causing nasal obstruction, functional correction can be performed simultaneously with cosmetic reshaping — combining aesthetic and breathing improvement in a single procedure.
A rhinoplasty is performed under general anaesthetic and often a day case procedure. The operation can be performed using an open or closed approach. The open approach involves making an incision in the columellar, which is the tissue at the bottom of the nose between the nostrils. This allows better access and visualization into the nose. The closed approach involves making incisions within the nostrils for access to undertake the procedure. The choice of open or closed rhinoplasty will depend on what areas of the nose need to addressed during the operation. Manchester rhinoplasty provider, Dr. Nassab will discuss your expectations from the procedure and discuss what approach would be best suited for your individual case.

Following a rhinoplasty Manchester patients will normally have a splint covering their nose. This will remain on for a week after your operation. Once the splint is removed the nose will look swollen and bruised. Swelling after a rhinoplasty may take several months to settle. Sometimes you may need a pack inside the nose at the time of the operation. This will normally be removed before you are discharged home.

Through comprehensive consultations, our Cheshire rhinoplasty team will prioritize your aesthetic objectives while addressing any potential risks associated with the surgical procedure.
What is rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is nose reshaping surgery performed under general anaesthetic. It can refine the bridge, tip, nostrils or septum to improve facial proportion and, where needed, breathing function.
What is the difference between open and closed rhinoplasty?
Closed rhinoplasty uses incisions entirely inside the nostrils, leaving no external scar. Open rhinoplasty adds a small incision across the columella to allow more direct access for complex reshaping. Mr Nassab selects the approach based on what needs to be achieved.
How long is recovery after rhinoplasty?
A nasal splint is typically worn for around one week. Most bruising and visible swelling settles over 1–2 weeks. Subtle swelling — particularly at the nasal tip — can take several months to resolve. Most people return to desk work within 1–2 weeks and avoid strenuous exercise for 4–6 weeks.
Will rhinoplasty improve my breathing?
If nasal obstruction is caused by a deviated septum or structural issue, functional correction can be performed at the same time as cosmetic reshaping. Suitability is assessed during your consultation.
Am I a good candidate for rhinoplasty?
Good candidates are in good general health, have realistic expectations, and are unhappy with the shape, size or proportion of their nose. Facial growth should be complete (usually from the late teens). A thorough consultation with Mr Nassab determines individual suitability.
Will there be visible scars after rhinoplasty?
Closed rhinoplasty leaves no external scars. Open rhinoplasty involves a very small incision across the columella which typically heals to a barely visible fine line. Mr Nassab discusses the expected scarring for your chosen approach during consultation.
Can rhinoplasty be combined with other procedures?
Yes — rhinoplasty is commonly combined with procedures such as chin augmentation to enhance facial balance, or with a facelift or blepharoplasty for broader facial rejuvenation. Combined options are discussed at consultation.
How long do rhinoplasty results last?
Rhinoplasty results are generally permanent, as the reshaping is structural. Natural ageing continues over time, but the changes made to cartilage and bone are long-lasting.
How much does rhinoplasty cost in Manchester?
Primary rhinoplasty starts from £8,500. Revision rhinoplasty is priced on a bespoke basis following consultation, as complexity varies. Finance options are available.
