How is the MiniAug Performed?

Consultation

The first step in the MiniAug journey involves a consultation with Mr. Nassab plastic surgeon in Manchester and Cheshire. The first consultation is usually done in our clinic but online consultations are available for patients that live further away or internationally. We frequently have patients seeking breast enlargement from Dubai, Ireland, France, Spain and many other countries. During your consultation, we will discuss your goals, suitability for the MiniAug procedure and trial small volume breast implants.

Day of Procedure

You will be admitted into our private hospital where Mr. Nassab will take preop photos and discuss the procedure again. The anaesthetist will review you and discuss the process for putting you to sleep for the procedure. The procedure usually takes about 60 minutes to perform following which you will be taken to theatre recovery. Once you are more awake, you will be transferred back to your room where we will monitor your recovery. Most patients will be discharged 2-3 hours following the MiniAug operation.

Operation

During a MiniAug Manchester & Cheshire patients receive a small incision around their natural breast fold. The incision is kept short and typically about 3-4 cm in length. The minimal access approach allows Mr. Nassab to make a pocket for the breast implant. Mr. Nassab then uses a special implant funnel to insert the implant into the pocket. The funnel allows a smaller incision and minimally contact with the implant reducing the risk of infection and capsular contracture. The pocket and incision are then closed using dissolvable stitches and a small dressing is applied. You will not need any further bandages and a post surgery bra is put on in theatre before going to recovery. You will also have a band on top of the post-op bra to provide more support and help prevent the implant riding high particularly if they are under the muscle.

Exquisite Skill

Why Choose Mr. Nassab for your MiniAug?

Mr Reza Nassab, a leading plastic surgeon in the UK, created the term MiniAug. The MiniAug procedure is trademarked by Mr. Nassab and only performed by him and those trained by him. If you are looking for the best surgeon for a boob job then book your consultation with Mr. Nassab to see the difference compared with other surgeons.

What are the risks of the MiniAug?

The risks associated with the MiniAug procedure are like those of a breast augmentation procedure. Using a smaller volume breast implant can often help reduce the pain or discomfort following the procedure. The risk of hypertrophic or keloid scarring may also be reduced due to lower tension on the incision after the surgery.

How much does a MiniAug cost?

The MiniAug cost depends on a number of factors which include the hospital, anaesthetic and surgeon fees. The typical cost of a MiniAug is from £8500 which includes the fees mentioned above and postop follow up appointments.

MiniAug Frequently Asked Questions

What is a MiniAug?

The MiniAug, or Mini Breast Augmentation, is a trademarked breast enhancement procedure created by Mr. Reza Nassab FRCS (Plast). It uses low-volume breast implants of up to 300 cc placed through a 3–4 cm inframammary incision to deliver a subtle, natural-looking result. It is performed as a day case under general anaesthetic, with patients discharged the same day. The MiniAug is specifically designed for patients seeking a natural one-to-two cup increase in breast size rather than a dramatic change.

Who is a good candidate for the MiniAug?

The ideal MiniAug candidate is someone who wants a very natural-looking breast enhancement. Specific criteria include: wanting a subtle, natural look (not a dramatic size change); desiring an implant volume of less than 300 cc; having minimal existing breast tissue (typically an A to B cup); having very little skin laxity or breast sagging, with the nipple sitting centrally on the breast; having a lean body type with a BMI below 26; and being in good general health. Mr. Nassab will assess your suitability in detail during your consultation, including trialling small implant sizers.

How is the MiniAug different from a standard breast augmentation?

The MiniAug differs from a standard breast augmentation in several important ways. It uses smaller implant volumes (up to 300 cc), requires a shorter incision of only 3–4 cm using a specialist implant funnel, and is specifically designed to achieve a natural rather than augmented appearance. The procedure time is also typically shorter (around 60 minutes), and patients return to light activity more quickly — often within 48 hours. The MiniAug is not suitable for patients who want a larger size increase or who have significant breast sagging, for whom a standard augmentation or augmentation mastopexy may be more appropriate.

What implant size is used in a MiniAug?

The MiniAug uses low-volume breast implants of up to 300 cc. The specific implant size chosen will depend on your existing breast tissue, your chest dimensions, and the look you are trying to achieve. During your consultation, Mr. Nassab will trial small implant sizers so you can visualise the expected outcome before deciding. The implant plane (under the muscle or dual plane) is also selected individually to maximise a natural appearance.

How long is the MiniAug recovery?

The MiniAug is a rapid-recovery procedure. Most patients can return to gentle activity such as walks and eating out within 48 hours of surgery. You will typically be able to return to a desk-based job within 5–10 days. More strenuous activities and exercise should be avoided for around 6 weeks while the implants settle and the incision heals. Mr. Nassab and the team will provide full written aftercare instructions and schedule follow-up appointments at 1 week and 6 weeks post-operatively as standard.

Will I have visible scars after a MiniAug?

The MiniAug incision is placed in the inframammary fold (the natural crease beneath the breast) and is kept to approximately 3–4 cm in length. This location means the scar is hidden beneath the breast and is not visible when standing. Using the specialist implant funnel reduces the tension on the incision and may also reduce the risk of hypertrophic (thickened) scarring compared with larger incisions. Scars continue to mature and fade over 12–18 months, and most patients find them entirely inconspicuous.

Can the MiniAug be combined with other procedures?

Yes. The MiniAug can be combined with a number of other procedures to address multiple concerns in a single operation and recovery period. Common combinations include Vaser liposuction, mini tummy tuck, full tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), labiaplasty, and rhinoplasty. The combination of the MiniAug with an abdominoplasty is a common component of the Mummy Makeover. Mr. Nassab will advise on whether combining procedures is appropriate and safe for you at your consultation.

What are the risks of a MiniAug?

The risks of the MiniAug are similar to those of a standard breast augmentation, and include bleeding, infection, changes in nipple or breast sensation, asymmetry, implant-related complications such as capsular contracture, implant malposition, or the need for revision surgery. Using a smaller implant volume can help reduce post-operative pain and discomfort. The use of an implant funnel reduces implant handling and may lower the risk of infection. Mr. Nassab will discuss all potential risks in detail at your consultation, and provide written information for you to review before making your decision.

When can I fly after a MiniAug?

Most patients are advised to avoid flying for approximately 2 weeks following the MiniAug to allow the early stages of healing to complete and to reduce the risk of complications such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Mr. Nassab will give you specific guidance based on the length of your flight and your individual recovery at your post-operative review. Patients travelling internationally for surgery should plan to remain in the UK for at least 10–14 days before flying home.

How much does a MiniAug cost in Manchester?

The MiniAug starts from £8,500 at Reza Nassab Plastic Surgery. This all-inclusive price covers surgeon fees, anaesthetic, private hospital stay (day case), and follow-up appointments. If the MiniAug is combined with another procedure, a bespoke quote will be provided at your consultation. Finance options are available to help spread the cost — please ask the team for details.
