If FaceTite or NeckTite is being combined, the radiofrequency device is applied at this stage to heat and tighten the overlying skin. The incisions are then closed with sutures, and a compression garment is fitted. The procedure is performed as an outpatient or day case under local anaesthetic.

The skin tightening effect continues to develop over several months following the procedure. After the procedure, you will have some dressings applied and a compression garment fitted around the chin and neck. It is normal to experience swelling and bruising, which may increase slightly over the first few days before beginning to resolve. Some firmness in the treated area is also common and will gradually improve over the following months. Most patients feel comfortable returning to a desk-based job within a few days to one week. Strenuous exercise and activities that raise blood pressure to the head are generally avoided for two to four weeks. You will notice an improvement in chin and jawline definition relatively early as the initial swelling begins to settle, though the area will still appear swollen in the first weeks. A noticeable improvement is typically visible within four to six weeks. The final results — including any skin tightening from FaceTite or NeckTite — are seen between six and twelve months following the procedure, as swelling fully resolves and the skin continues to contract and improve. Maintaining a stable weight helps preserve the long-term outcome.

The incisions used in double chin liposuction are very small — typically a few millimetres in length — and are placed in discreet locations, most commonly in the natural skin crease beneath the chin and sometimes just behind the ears. These small scars heal extremely well for the vast majority of patients and are virtually invisible once fully healed. They continue to fade and soften over 12–18 months. As with any surgical procedure, double chin liposuction carries a risk of complications.
